All utilities have an educational campaign to educate their customers about sanitary sewer overflows (read: wastewater spilling up over manholes into backyards, neighborhoods, creeks, and streams, GROSS).
As terrible as these are, they are entirely avoidable if you avoid putting items down the drain that will cause clogs in the pipes.
These items include:
- Grease
- Fats
- Oils
- Wipes
- Debris
If you have lived in Charlotte for awhile you may have seen our “Angry Hamburger” Grease Free campaign around town.

Well, the Angry Hamburger is being retired and we have released a new education campaign called Flow Free.
This campaign can be used to message about one specific item that can’t go down the drain or all of them.

We will have targeted messages out in the community using various media outlets:

We’ve also made some fun commercials to illustrate the point.
Transcripts for both appear at the bottom of this page.

Flow Free Bathroom (30 seconds)
Let us know what you think in the comments, and remember do not put grease, fats, oils, wipes, or debris down the sink or toilet.
